Wacky Wednesday

We have been reading the book "Wacky Wednesday"  Yesterday we had our Wacky Wednesday at school.  Most of the children came to school dressed in Wacky Clothes.  We had some wacky things going on in our classroom. 

 Some pictures were upside down, things were in strange places and the children had to crawl through a hoop to get into the classroom.  We drew our pictures upside down and we started our stories from the bottom of the page.  We had a lot of fun!

Descriptive Storm Writing

In the night I could hear a crack and a boom and hail. The thunder and lightening was like a camera in the night. The rain stomped on my roof like a giant. The thunder sounded like a hungry tummy.

Last night I saw a blue stormy bit of lightening. I hopped out of my bed and went into my mum’s bedroom. I took my teddy and my pillow with me. Every time I woke up I kicked my mum. The rain was so, so loud and hard it felt like the house moved. I bet my cat would have been scared. The thunder storm sounded like a giant stomping. I felt scared.

The birds were tweeting in the brown and green trees. The storm flashed like a camera taking photos. People were a bit afraid like a baby in their beds.

Birds in the night were in their nest and they were screeching like monkeys in the trees. It felt like the roof was going to smash. The thunder was really loud and scary. I felt unhappy.

One stormy, wild night there were some scary sounds. There was a flash brighter than a camera. There was thunder booming louder than a lion roaring as loud as it could! It was so loud that it made me fall out of bed. My sisters were very scared but... When I woke up there were only sticky, muddy puddles. I’m glad my house didn’t break or shake. The weather man said somewhere in NZ there’s a thunder storm today but not in Hamilton! Yay!

Our Stories describing Bubble Wrap

Yesterday we wrote stories describing Bubble Wrap.  We tried to use lots of descriptive words and language features.

Jisita  The bubble wrap feels like a furry bear.  It is crumbly and it looks like a shiny crystal sea.  It is so smooth.

Emma Jayne  The bubble wrap is soft and it is bumpy.  I like Bubble wrap.  The little bubbles make sounds that pop.

Ammon  Bubble Wrap looks like the sun sparkling on the river.  They feel like crumbly crumbs.  They sound like a popping noise.

Ethan  Today w are studying bubble wrap.  It looks like the shiny sun.  It's like half a bubble.  It makes the kkkk sound on one side of it, it's squishy.

Mia  Bubble wrap is bumpy.  It's soft like a pillow.  It looks like floating little bubbles.

Isabella   On Wednesday we got some Bubble wrap.  On one side of the bubbles it is soft and on the other side it is bumpy.  It looks like bubbles in the water.  And it was shiny.  It's crispy.

Kyla  Bubble Wrap is fun to pop and it is smooth.  On the other side it feels like little bubbles swimming round and round.  I pop bubble wrap.  It feels funny but it feels smooth like a smooth piece of string.  I like bubble wrap.

Kyle  The bubble wrap sounds like bubbles popping.  The bubble wrap feels likes it's bumpy and crumbly.

Molika 
 On Wednesday we were talking about bubble wrap.  It was clear like water and it sounded like popcorn popping in a pot.  The colour is shiny silver.

Jordyn  One morning Mrs Gribben gave us bubble wrap.  The bubble wrap was a smooth as a smooth and bumpy carpet.  It feels soft on one side and on the other side it is bumpy.  It sounds like a popping bubble.
